The third season of Soy Luna was officially confirmed by Disney Channel Latin America on September 30, 2017.[1] Filming had previously been confirmed by various cast members.[2] Filming started at the end of May 2017 in Cancún and wrapped up on December 22, 2017 in Buenos Aires.[3][4] Scenes from the season opener in Cancún were filmed back-to-back with the last few episodes of Season 2 set in Cancún. There was a break in between filming the scenes in Cancún and rest of the season in Buenos Aires. Filming in Buenos Aires began in the last few weeks of July.[5] The new season began airing on April 16, 2018.[6]

Trivia[]
- The trailer for this season dropped on February 22, 2018.[6]
- A teaser trailer was released almost two months earlier, on December 31, 2017.[7]
- Starting with this season, many episodes do not exceed over the 50 minute runtime.
- Episodes 20, 40, and 53 are the only ones that meet/exceed that number, when including the other language credits on Disney+.
- The final episode almost reaches it, being off by only a minute.
- This is the only season to not feature the full interiors of Blake or the kitchen of the Benson Mansion.
- The former is never shown at all this season.
- The interior of the Benson Mansion's garage returns this season after not being shown in the previous season.
- The time-slot for the show was moved forward an hour for this season, from 18:00 to 19:00.[citation needed]
- Dove Cameron and Sofia Carson made a guest appearance in this season. They sang a song from Descendants: Wicked World with the cast.[8][9]
- This marks Sofia's second time on the show, the first being in Season 1/Episode 71.
- Mia Jenkins from the Disney Channel UK series The Lodge made a guest appearance in this season. She plays a character called Emma, a friend of Ada's, who is from England and is quite bad at Spanish, causing her to mix up her words a lot.[10]
- The main cast saw many changes for this season, with Jandino, Giovanna Reynaud, Pasquale Di Nuzzo, Victoria Suárez Battán, and Joaquín Berthold being added/upgraded to the main cast, Diego Sassi Alcalá, Germán Tripel, and Antonella Querzoli being fully removed, and Paula Kohan being demoted to recurring cast. Lionel Ferro and Berthold departed the series mid-season.
- Paula Kohan, Estebán Velásquez, and Mia Jenkins, who were recurring cast, all appeared more than Agustín Bernasconi and Ezequiel Rodríguez, who were still credited with the main cast.
- Unlike the previous two seasons, Season 3 only had 60 episodes, instead of the normal 80.[11][12]
- The cast embarked on the Soy Luna Live tour only two weeks after the end of filming Season 3.
- This is the first and only season to have Yam and Jim cry in a respective episode.
