Episode 53 is the fifty-third episode of the Disney Channel Latin America series Soy Luna. It aired on July 20, 2016.
Plot[]
Luna asks Tamara for more time to look for the member they need for the team. Luna convinces Nina to join them. Luna loses a USB drive with something important for Simón.
Summary[]
Luna's team needs a member[]
With Matteo on Ámbar's team, Luna's team is a member short. Tamara gives them until the end of the day to find another member. Simón tries to convince Nico to change his mind about quitting, but he refuses, saying that his involvement in the team just created arguments. Luna asks Nina to join, and she initially says no, but changes her mind when Tamara says Luna's team will be eliminated without a sixth member.
Delfina and Jazmín see Nina with skates on and make fun of her for trying to skate. Luna defends her and brings her out to the rink. Ramiro is upset to find out that Nina is the sixth member, as he thinks that the team needs someone who can actually skate. Luna defends Nina again and begins to skate with her around the rink.
At school, Ámbar asks Matteo if there was more to why he joined her team again. Ámbar questions if he still has feelings for her, but Matteo says that everything between the two of them is over. He pulls Luna into the conversation and says the move was just to keep peace between the members of the Jam & Roller Skating Team.
Drama at the Benson Mansion[]
Miguel thinks that Tino and Cato are hiding something, since they quiet up when asked about the medallion or Roberto Muñoz. Mónica doesn't entertain his suspicions, because she believes that Tino and Cato are just weird. Amanda overhears their conversation and reveals that Cato was talking to her about some files he shipped via boat while in Mexico. She doesn't know any details, but Miguel thinks it is proof that something sketchy is going on.
Rey presents to Tino and Cato three logos of shipping companies to jog their memories on the one they used to send the adoption records from Mexico. Before they can answer, Sharon interrupts Rey and tells him he must be focused on keeping intruders off the property. The next day, Sylvana shows up at the mansion and asks Ámbar to speak with her. Sylvana sees Rey out of the corner of her eye as he sneaks up on the pair, and tells Ámbar she will speak to her another day.
Cato wants to sing a song for Amanda to showcase his feelings, but he doesn't know how. Luna tells him about the Open Music at Jam & Roller and suggests he speak to Simón about it. Tino and Cato show up at Jam & Roller and ask Simón for help signing up. He tells them that they could've just signed up online and lends them a computer to do so at Jam & Roller. Cato also shares some of the lyrics he came up with for Amanda's song.
Luna misplaces Simón's USB[]
Luna cannot find the USB that has the Roller Band's song for the movie on it. Unbeknownst to her, Daniela has stolen it. Luna tears up her backpack, locker, and bedroom looking for it to no avail. The next day, she tells Simón that she has somehow misplaced it, and Simón is very upset with her. Daniela enters the locker room and piles on the guilt, then takes Simón out for a drink to brainstorm how to fix the situation.
Mariano has a secret[]
Mariano gets a call from a mysterious Dr. Ramírez and tells him/her "[he'll] get her to sign the papers soon." Meanwhile, Ricardo follows Ana and Mora on their morning jog to get some input on a new gift for Tamara.
Back at Jam & Roller, Mariano pushes Tamara to sign some papers quickly so that Jam & Roller has a spot at the Intercontinental Skating Competition. Tamara feels like Mariano is trying to rush her and tells him that she needs to talk it over with the owners. Ricardo interrupts the two, and Mariano leaves. Ricardo apologizes to Tamara for what happened at the double date.
Jim and Yam are fighting[]
Yam wants to talk to Jim about Ramiro, but Jim is in a bad mood and unreceptive. Yam calls Jim selfish and other harsh words, since Yam thinks that she has been super supportive with Jim's relationship troubles. Yam takes it a little two far, which makes Jim very upset with her. At school, Ramiro sees the two fighting and tries to help, but the girls simply walk away. At Jam & Roller, Yam asks Nico for help with getting Jim to forgive her to which he agrees. Jim sees them holding hands from afar and seems upset.
Ramiro's giving out the wrong impression[]
Both Jazmín and Daniela think that Ramiro has a crush on them after watching him rap on stage. Jazmín, Delfina, and Ámbar go out to film a video for Fab and Chic. After they are done filming, Delfina asks Jazmín who her "secret admirer" is, and Delfi secretly records her. Daniela joins them and tells Jazmín that she must be mistaken because Ramiro has a crush on her, not Jazmín. Daniela says that Ramiro is all Jazmín's, because she's with Simón.
Daniela tells Simón that Ramiro is hitting on her, and that she can't believe someone would pursue their friend's girlfriend. At practice, Simón confronts Ramiro about going after his girl.
