Episode 40 is the fortieth episode of the Disney Channel Latin America series Soy Luna, and also the last episode of the first part of season 1. It aired on May 6, 2016.
Plot[]
When leaving the hotel to go to the competition, Simón disappears, and Luna then decides to go looking for him. Meanwhile, at Jam & Roller, everyone gets together to watch the final. Luna and Matteo skate a crowd-pleasing performance of "Alas," and share a kiss. Gastón forgives Delfina, but prefers that they remain friends. Nina says goodbye to Xavi as he leaves to return to Brazil.
Summary[]
Simón is missing[]
Simón still hasn't turned up, and Matteo finds out that he's not answering calls because he left his phone in their room. Even though the Jam & Roller team is already running late for the competition, Luna goes out looking for him. In Pedernales, Simón tries to get Tino and Cato to bring him back to San Nicolás for the final, but the van breaks down. So, Simón catches a ride with a stranger heading that way.
Ámbar is initially furious that Tino and Cato could've made such a mistake, but since Luna went chasing after Simón, she realizes that her plan is working even if not exactly as planned. Tamara tells Ámbar to be prepared to go out in place of Luna. Luna shows up at the competition, but decides not to compete without Simón. Isa sees Luna alone and tells her she can't give up on the rink, but she still isn't convinced. Jam & Roller is called upon by host Dany Martins for their turn, but Matteo runs out of the rink to find Luna. He tells her she can't give up on her dream, and he returns with Luna to compete, much to Ámbar's shock. Seconds into their routine, Simón shows up. Luna and Matteo put up a good routine, including successfully executing the "Serpant of Fire" move. After they finish the routine, Matteo kisses Luna, leaving Simón in tears.
The pretend couple[]
Ramiro asks Yam if she wanted to be his date instead of Vero, but he is as cocky as ever, so Yam denies it. Lolo returns to the Roller looking for his backpack. He says to the group watching the final in the Jam & Roller that he lost it while talking to Ramiro and his girlfriend. Gastón is confused and thinks that Lolo must be mistaken, because there isn't one girl he's ever meet that can put up with Ramiro. Lolo realizes that he's been lied to, spots Ramiro, and looks like he's about to get aggressive. Ramiro grabs Yam and kisses her, and, for good measure, Yam grabs Ramiro and kisses him again.
Delfi's continued hope[]
Gastón forgives Delfina, and she hopes that they can get back together, but Gastón just wants to remain friends. After their conversation, Gastón gets a call from Matteo, who explains the situation at the final with Simón missing. Gastón tells Matteo that he has forgiven Delfi, but is not getting back together with her, instead he's going to go out on the prowl. Jim walks into the room mid-call to ask if Gastón is going to join them in watching the final, and Gastón says to Matteo that he's found his first candidate. Unbeknownst to Gastón, Nico has finally asked Jim out on a date.
Nico sees the two talking and looks uncomfortable. Delfi talks to Pedro about Gastón and also notices that it seems like Jim and Gastón are attracted to each other. Delfi says that if Gastón can move on, she'll move on too.
Nina and Xavi say goodbye[]
Nina and Xavi meet in the park one last time before Xavi returns to Brazil. Xavi gives Nina a portrait of her with his email address on the back. Their meeting gets cut short when Nina runs off to help her friend in distress.
Arcade's heartful gesture[]
Ámbar wants Jazmín to forget the loser gamer Arcade once and for all, but Jazmín has her reservations. Arcade leaves Jazmín a message telling her to check out Fab and Chic. He has left a "draw my life" style video on the page talking about their romance. At the end, he essentially asks for a second chance.
Tamara's quarreling lovers[]
During the competition, Ricardo talks to Mariano to offer advice from "one friend to another." Referring to Tamra, Ricardo says that something that didn't work before isn't going to work now. Mariano rejects Ricardo's advice. Mariano finds Tamara and tells her that he won't lose her again.
A rush to find Sol[]
Rey and Sharon arrive at the airport and find Sofía and Clara about to enter the building. Sharon sees Sofía and says out-loud, quizzically "Sol?"
