Germán Tripel (born January 15, 1980) is an Argentine actor, singer, and musician, best known for his roles as Rafa Palmer on Violetta and Cato Alcoba on Soy Luna.
Life and Career[]
Germán Tripel was born in Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina on January 15, 1980. He attended Deutsche Schule Villa Ballester, a trilingual school with instruction in English, Spanish, and German.[2] Throughout secondary school, Tripel played handball, track and field, and soccer, playing for some time on the Chacarita Juniors for the later.[2] After finishing secondary, Tripel studied to become a physical education teacher and continued to participate in track and field at CeNARD, having local success in the long jump.[1][2]
He began his musical career as a contestant on the reality television show Popstars: Tu Show in 2002.[1] He was a finalist and as a result joined the boy band Mambrú; their debut album sold over 120,000 copies and went triple platinum.[2] In 2005, Mambrú disbanded in the midst of a national tour. After parting from the band, Tripel began an acting career, guest-starring in No hay 2 sin 3, Champs 12, and Historias de la primera vez.[1][2][3] He also released a solo album called Push! in 2008.[1] In 2012, Tripel landed a recurring role as rock star Rafa Palmer in Violetta, and in 2015, it was announced that he would be a part of the main cast of Soy Luna as Cato. He left the show at the end of its second season.
On November 11, 2011, he married fellow musician and actress Florencia Otero, and they have one daughter together named Nina.[4] They met while performing with one another in Rent at the Ciudad Cultural Konex, and together, they form the band FlowerTrip.[5][6] Tripel is also currently a singer in the rock band Coverheads.[7]
