Gastón Vietto (born July 6, 1990) is an Argentine actor, singer, and musician/composer. He is known for portraying Mateo in the Disney XD series Peter Punk and Pedro in Soy Luna.
Life and Career[]
Vietto was born in Côte d'Ivoire to Mario Alejandro Vietto and María Pía, but moved to La Rioja, Argentina at age one and a half[2]. When he was 15, he relocated to Cordoba to play soccer for the lower levels of the Instituto de Córdoba, working his way up to a starter position.[2] He played until he was 17 and then moved to Buenos Aires to audition for the Argentine remake/spin-off of High School Musical.[2] The audition process was documented in the reality competition show High School Musical: la Selección. Vietto was a semifinalist and won a role equivalent to Chad or Zeke in High School Musical: El desafío.[1]
In 2011, Vietto was cast as Mateo on the Disney XD LA show Peter Punk.[3] As Mateo, Vietto was a guitarist in the Rock Bones band which also made guest appearances on Violetta. After the show ended, Vietto formed the Primantes band with his former co-stars and Tom Huergo.[3]
While auditioning for the Disney XD LA show Once, Vietto received a call asking him to attend a casting for a role in Soy Luna instead.[4] He landed the role of Pedro and was on the show from 2016 to its end in 2018. He also wrote a song for the show called "Decirte lo que siento," and went on three tours across Latin America and Europe with the show.
In 2019, he took the roles of Marty in the musical adaptation of Madagascar and Jaime in The Last Five Years.[1][2]
