Buenos Aires, Argentina ("Fair Winds") is the province and city where the majority of Soy Luna takes place. It is also where the show is filmed.
Divisions[]
Buenos Aires is both a province and city. The city of Buenos Aires is the capital city of Argentina and a federal district (much like Washington, D.C.), meaning it is autonomous and not within the province of Buenos Aires. The city of Buenos Aries is divided into 48 barrios (neighborhoods). The Buenos Aires province is divided into 135 partidos (districts), which are further divided into localidades. Greater Buenos Aires is comprised of the city of Buenos Aires and the 24 partidos surrounding it; all of Soy Luna set in Argentina takes place in Greater Buenos Aires.
Location of the Show[]
The Benson Mansion where Luna and Ámbar live is said to be in Zona Norte. Zona Norte is an informal division of Greater Buenos Aires comprised of the northernmost partidos of the Buenos Aires province above the capital city. This is the most specific that the show gets about the location of the show.
The show is inconsistent in its presentation of the distance between the mansion and the city of Buenos Aires, though. In the first episode, Luna skates from the mansion, across multiple barrios of Buenos Aires city, to as far as San Nicolás, presumably making their residence relatively close to the city. However, in an episode later that season, the Jam & Roller Skating Team travels to the International Skating Competition in San Nicolás and must stay in a hotel, making the residence seem far away from the city. Even if staying in the hotel was a stipulation of the competition, it was held far enough away where no one else from the Jam & Roller or parents thought to travel there to watch the competition. In Season 2/Episode 04, both Luna and Matteo are casually skating through Puerto Madero, once again calling into question the proximity of the house to the city.
