Ana Carolina Valsagna Barraza (born August 4, 1977) is a Mexican actress and dialect coach. At various points of her career, she has also been credited as Carolina Valsagna and Ana Carolina Barraza. She portrays Mónica Valente in Soy Luna.

Life and Career[]

Valsagna was born to Oscar-nominated actress Adriana Barraza and her ex-husband Carlos Valsagna.[3] She studied acting from a young age at the Centro de Arte Dramático and at her mother's acting studio.[4] Valsagna spent most of her young career doing theater, appearing in works such as El rey Lear, Ricardo II, Las metamorfosis, and El pájaro azul.[4]

From 1991 to 1992, Valsagna portrayed various characters in the anthology series Mujer, casos de la vida real for Televisa. Throughout the 90s and early 2000s, Valsagna continued to make guest appearances in productions for Televisa and Argentine production studios.[4] In 2008, Valsagna was cast as a lead in Toilette, the first original series of Cosmopolitan TV LA.[5] From 2016 to 2018, Valsagna starred in Soy Luna as Mónica, the mother of the titular Luna Valente.

Outside of acting, Valsagna worked as a casting director for the 2003 series Postdata and currently works as a "neutral Spanish" coach at her mother's acting studio in Buenos Aires and for her own business NEUTRAL.[4][6] She has worked as a coach on the telenovelas Sueña conmigo, Violetta, and BIA in addition to being a private coach.

She has one son named Juan with her ex-husband Maxi Ghione.[7]
